From Left to right:

Brenda Bezerra is a pharmacist and obtained her Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Universidade Estadual da Paraíba (UEPB), Brazil. Her master's research was focused on the development of vaginal ovules based on ureasil-polyether hybrid materials for combination therapy in the treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Development and Technological Innovation in Medicines at UEPB and Université d'Angers under the joint supervision of Dr João Augusto Oshiro & Dr Laurent Lemaire with the financial sunpport of CAPES , as part of CAPES-COFECUB 88881.987402/2024-01 * Me–1081/25 program. Her PhD research will focus on the development and evaluation of lipid nanoparticles functionalized with antimicrobial peptides for the treatment of fungal infections.

Nouran Zahran obtained her Pharm.D. degree in Clinical Pharmacy from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University, Egypt. She worked for three years as an Oncology Clinical Pharmacist before pursuing a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the University of Padova, Italy, through an excellence scholarship program, where she specialized in tumor immunology and immunotherapy. She later continued her research activities at the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. research at the MINT Laboratory, Université d’Angers, through a joint scholarship funded by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and the French Embassy in Egypt. Her research focuses on tumor immunology, immunotherapy, and nanomedicine for cancer treatment.

Fiorella Ortiz obtained a Master’s degree in Nanomedicine for Drug Delivery through the Erasmus Mundus NANOMED Program, carried out across four European universities. During her studies, she worked on nanoparticle formulation, antibacterial nanomaterials, and drug delivery systems through research projects conducted at the MiNT laboratory and inLAB (University of Pavia). She is currently a first-year CIFRE PhD student at the MiNT laboratory in collaboration with Alkion Bioinnovations, under the joint supervision of Dr. Elise Lepeltier and Dr. Laurent Lemaire. Her doctoral research is part of an academia–industry partnership  focused on the formulation, characterization, and biological evaluation of an innovative nanoparticle-based therapeutic platform for biomedical applications.
